Data deletion and disconnecting
Last updated: 6 October 2026. These are the data deletion instructions for the Bumely Studio at studio.bumely.com, operated by tayger, owner Tayger Galster, Regensburger Straße 138, 90478 Nürnberg, Germany (see the Legal notice). They cover your connections to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Buffer and are part of our Privacy Policy (see the section Disconnecting and deleting data).
In short
- You can disconnect any connection at any time and have your data deleted. It is free of charge.
- The quickest way is to disconnect in the Studio (step 1). We delete the stored access keys immediately.
- You can also withdraw Bumely’s access on the platform (step 2), delete your Bumely account (step 3) or email us (step 4).
- Posts that are already published on a platform stay there. You delete them on the platform itself (step 5).
We are introducing direct publishing to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube step by step. Until a platform is enabled for your account, you cannot connect it, and publishing goes through Buffer. What this page says about a platform applies from the moment you have connected it. Disconnecting Buffer, deleting your account and the request by email work today.
1. Disconnect in the Studio
This is the quickest way. Sign in at studio.bumely.com.
- Buffer. On the posting screen, choose “Disconnect Buffer”. Posts you have already scheduled stay in Buffer.
- TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Choose the disconnect button of the platform. It is available once the platform is enabled for your account.
We delete the stored access keys immediately. We also delete the details we stored for that connection, such as your identifier on the platform. Where the platform offers it, we withdraw Bumely’s access there as well. Information that we received from YouTube, including the entries in the publish log that come from YouTube, we delete without delay and within 7 days at the latest. The other entries in the publish log stay until you delete your account or ask us to delete them (steps 3 and 4).
2. Withdraw Bumely’s access on the platform
You can also take access away where you gave it. This works without the Studio, so you can do it even if you cannot sign in. Bumely can then no longer publish for you.
- TikTok. In TikTok’s settings under app permissions (“Manage app permissions”), choose Bumely and remove its access.
- Instagram. In Instagram’s settings under “Apps and websites” (depending on the app version, also “Website permissions”), choose Bumely and remove it.
- YouTube and Google. Open https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions (it leads to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) and sign in. Choose Bumely and remove its access.
- Buffer. Manage or delete the key you gave us in your Buffer account.
Menu names can differ slightly between app versions and countries. The help pages of the platform show the current steps.
We notice a withdrawal when we next use the connection, or when a post or the renewal of a key fails because of it. For YouTube we also check at least every 30 days that your approval at Google still applies. As soon as we notice, we delete the stored keys and, for YouTube, the data we received from Google. For YouTube this happens no later than 30 days after you withdrew access. The other connection data stays until you use step 3 or step 4.
3. Delete your Bumely account
In the Studio, open “Account” and choose “Delete account”. This deletes your account, your files and all connection data: every access key, every platform identifier and the publish log. Where the platform offers it, we withdraw Bumely’s access there first. Other data that we keep longer, such as sign-in logs at our authentication provider, is described in the Privacy Policy; write to us and we delete it.
4. Ask us by email
Write to info@bumely.com and tell us which connection (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Buffer) or which data we should delete. We delete the connection data without delay and within 7 days at the latest, and we confirm it to you by email.
Please write from the email address you use to sign in to the Studio, so we know that the request comes from you. If you write from another address, we reply to the address of your account and ask there. This way nobody can have someone else’s data deleted.
5. What stays
- Posts that are already published on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, or scheduled through Buffer, stay there. Delete them on the platform itself.
- Data that the platform itself holds about you is not ours to delete. Contact the platform and see its privacy policy: TikTok, Instagram, Google, Buffer.
- Deleted connection data can remain in our server backups for up to three weeks. We use these backups only to restore the server after a failure (see Section 2 of the Privacy Policy).
6. What data this covers and how long we keep it
By connection data we mean what we store about a connection to a platform. For this data we are responsible (see Section 1 of the Privacy Policy). As soon as a platform has received data from us or from you, it is responsible for its own processing.
- Access keys (tokens). The keys that the platform gives us after you approve: for TikTok and Google an access key and a refresh key, for Instagram an access key, for Buffer the key you pasted into the Studio. We store the keys for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube encrypted on our server in Frankfurt. We keep them only while the connection exists and delete them immediately when you disconnect or delete your account. For YouTube we check at least every 30 days that your approval at Google still applies.
- Platform identifiers. Your identifier on the platform and the details we need to match publications to your account, for example your TikTok identifier (“open_id”) and display name, or your Instagram identifier and username. We keep them until you disconnect or delete your account.
- Publish log. For each post: the platform, the file name, the post text, the time, the status and the identifier that the platform returns. For Buffer, the list of scheduled posts with file name, post text, channel and send time. We keep the log until you delete your account. Entries that come from YouTube are an exception. We delete them within 7 days at the latest when you disconnect YouTube in the Studio, and no later than 30 days after you withdrew access at Google. While the connection exists, we delete or renew them no later than 30 days after the last check of your approval.
- Temporary copies. So that Instagram or Buffer can fetch your finished video, the Studio puts a copy under a link with a random name. We delete this copy after 7 days at the latest. Your uploaded and finished videos in the Studio are deleted automatically 7 days after upload anyway.
The full list of retention periods is in Section 5 of the Privacy Policy. Your rights under data protection law, such as access and erasure, are in Section 7. The German version of these instructions is in the section Verbindungen trennen und Daten löschen of the German Privacy Policy.
